Groups

I am a believer in the power of healing in community through talk therapy groups. This page lists some groups I run currently or may facilitate again. If you are curious about a group, even a discontinued one, please reach out to get information on its recurrence, new facilitators, or a waiting list.

Unprecedented Times

Group therapy for people suffering in the current social and political climate.

Whether you're stuck in the doomscroll or burnt out from activism, you don't have to feel this alone.

This is a space to:

  1. Find your own meaning in the face of atrocities or disasters
  2. Share your grief with others
  3. Decolonize ideas of self care and engage in community care
  4. Tune into your embodiment and learn tools for somatic grounding
  5. Evaluate your relationship to social media
  6. Vision a better future Seize empowerment amidst uncertainty

Bodies & Trauma

At The Relational Center, I have co-facilitated their somatic trauma group Bodies and Trauma several times, including a version of the curriculum adapted to better suit neurodivergent individuals. This group focuses on educating members about the way trauma affects their nervous systems. Without going into potentially-triggering trauma stories, we engage in experiential exercises designed to raise embodied awareness and help members resource themselves in times of distress.

Bi Don’t Panic

I have also been a co-facilitator of the Relational Center community support group for bisexual, pansexual, and other plurosexual people. These folks often feel marginalized or erased in both straight and gay spaces, and our group created a space just for them to exist and connect. Bi Don’t Panic offered a place to explore identity, share stories, and spread resources.

Groups in development

TransFam

I am currently developing a group for family and loved ones of transgender individuals who are looking for a little extra support navigating transition. This group will offer some basic education on transgender issues and terminology as well as hold space for your own emotional process around these big changes.

Healing from Hustle Culture

I also hope to create a group called Healing from Hustle Culture, in which we will explore topics such as burnout, workaholism, social media, and the emotional impact of capitalism, all while fostering a more compassionate relationship to ourselves.
